Born in Tunisia, I moved country when I was 8 and grew up in Switzerland. This huge change of culture and values has dramatically affected me as a growing child. At age 25, I moved country again and decided to settle down in London for 6 years. The several differences of cultures, traditions and languages I experienced in my life have led me to constantly question the foundations of human’s identity and challenge it in my work as a director.
I started my career in 2013 with Fashion One TV as video editor and followed with many indépendant short films. My work has been shown on on the largest musical digital Platform 4:3 Boiler Room TV and Videostatic. I have won 7 awards for«best video clip». I also have worked with the BBC on a number of TV projects as camera assistant.
Being a female Arabic director, I have spent too much time blaming myself for not being able to achieve the things I deeply wanted to achieve. I now know that the society and my conditioning have also played a huge part in the struggles of my life. It is extremely important to me that women from all backgrounds identify these conditionings in order to free themselves from the chains that are stopping them from flourishing. And for men to help them to do so.
