Klaudia Reynicke Candeloro is a co-opted member of SWAN’s Executive Committee.

Klaudia Reynicke Candeloro is a Swiss Peruvian artist, writer and director who grew up between Peru, Switzerland and the United States. Before dedicating herself to film, she studied Visual Arts and anthropology (B.A. University of South Florida) and later sociology (Licence ès/M.A. University of Lausanne). In 2005 she attended the the Tisch School of Arts at the New York University where she directed her first short film “Great expectations: NY”. She obtained an M.A. in filmmaking from both universities the Ecole Cantonal d’Art of Lausanne (ECAL) and the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) in 2010 where she directed several short films. In 2011, she was invited to attend the Berlinale Talent Campus.

Between 2013 and 2017, Klaudia directed several documentary films for both Swiss television and theatrical release. Among them “¿Asi son los hombres?” (2013), “Weeki Wachee” (2014), “Il Matrimonio” (2014) and “I love Schauenstein” (2015) a documentary where she follows the three-starred Swiss top chef Andreas Caminada.

Her first feature film “il Nido” (The Nest) had its World Premiere in competition at the Locarno Festival 2016. It was released in various theaters in Switzerland. Her second feature film “Love me tender” had its world Premiere in competition at the Locarno Film Festival 2019 and its international Premiere at the Toronto Film Festival 2019 before being invited to many other prestigious festivals like BFI London and AFI Los Angeles.

Today Klaudia is developing several projects for cinema and television involving Europe, the United States and South America.
