Kalkulator – Jetzt wird mit Care gerechnet!
FemaleAct has developed “Kalkulator – Jetzt wird mit Care gerechnet!”, an online tool which is available on its website and was designed to provide a visualization of possible child-care costs incurred by artists.
Many people in the performing arts do not work on regular hours. Unfortunately, subsidized child care is only intended for weekdays from 8am to 5pm. But during evenings, weekends or holidays, the costs must be borne by the artists alone. This calculator was created to help them make their costs visible to employers.
In this first version in German, FemaleAct has focused on care work for children. This tool is free of charge to both artists and their employers, and is designed to increase awareness of the compatibility between work and family life.
FemaleAct is a Zurich-based association for screen and stage actresses. It is mostly composed of FINTA (Frauen, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans and Agender) professionals who live and work in Switzerland, and use their experience to identify where structural change is needed in the performing arts and develop projects to accelerate it.
