After our annual General Assembly and networking brunch, film director and SWAN member Laura Gabay joined us and shared her experience as a woman and creator in the film industry in a 90-minute interactive conversation with the audience, in the company of producer Cecilia Cardoso.
SWAN's General Assembly 2024 was held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:30 in Théâtre de Marens, within the framework of Visions du Réel in Nyon. The assembly was followed by a brunch from 11:30 to 12:00.
The Swiss film industry is experiencing a shortage of female workers, particularly as assistants to directors and producers on set. Is it the result of a work culture that is unattractive, gendered and steeped in hierarchies? To discuss these current topics, SWAN has teamed up with the Solothurn Film Festival and 23bis to host a panel discussion on Saturday, January 20, 2024, during the Industry Days "SO PRO" of the 59th edition of the festival.
At the initiative of SWAN, Anaïs Emery, executive and artistic director of the GIFF - Geneva International Film Festival, and Guerric Canonica, president of the GIFF Foundation, will sign the Pledge for Parity and Inclusion in Cinema Festivals for new commitments for equality and diversity in the industry. The ceremony will take place on November 10, 2023, during the festival, in the presence of the three other co-signatories: pledge godmother, head of the cinema department of HEAD Genève, producer and filmmaker Anita Hugi, alongside SWAN's executive committee members Delphine Luchetta and Katia Skila-Durlemann.

This year, SWAN - Swiss Women's Audiovisual Network is teaming up once again with SoundTrack_Cologne and SoundTrack_Zurich to bring "Matchmaking for Women in Media & Music", a matchmaking event aimed exclusively at female composers and sound designers and taking place within the frame of the Zurich Film Festival.
SWAN - Swiss Women's Audiovisual Network is hosting the 8th annual Locarno Networking Breakfast, featuring an exciting discussion and the opportunity to connect and give visibility to women in our industry at the Locarno Film Festival.
At the invitation of the nationwide festival Let's Doc! - Week of the Documentary, SWAN will be exploring the situation of women in audio and the gender stereotypes traditionally associated with their jobs during a panel discussion. This roundtable will be preceded by the screening of "J'ai énormément dormi" by sound engineer and director Clara Alloing.
